YOKO-YOKO

横横 (Japanese) – Yoko(hama) + Yoko(suka)

True story of this pullover design is actually a reflection of our friendship with Veta Romanenkova. Both expats from the same country and sharing similar hardships of military life, we’ve met while both residing in Japan. We would often meet half-way from each other’s homes in Yokohama and Yokosuka, hence the name as well for Yoko-Yoko.
This boxy pullover is a reflection of our mutual passion for minimalism as well as perfecting tiniest details and always striving for impeccable finishing.
Around 2014 Veta asked for my help in attempt to bring the sweater she knit into an accessible and detailed pattern for others to enjoy.
